Donations - How you can help

In today’s Glasgow there are those whose quality of life would be miserable without the help of charities such as the Colquhoun. The Social Security system provides varying degrees of help to these people, however the state does not always cover the needs of some of the most disadvantaged and unfortunate in our society.

The Colquhoun Bequest Fund has a valuable part to play in making a contribution to the quality of lives of such people in Glasgow. You can help too...

In order to help us continue to make a difference we need the support of individuals, businesses and other trust funds in the form of donations.

A donation of just £540 supports one beneficiary for one year, but any size of donation is very welcome – please give what you can afford.

Individuals can use Gift Aid—a tax efficient way of giving donations, allowing the charity to reclaim the basic rate tax. Higher rate taxpayers can reclaim the difference between basic and higher rate tax. (For a net payment of £421.20 the Colquhoun Bequest Fund can receive £540, and higher rate taxpayers can claim tax relief of 18% of the gross amount—£97.20, effectively the cost to the donor is £324.)
Businesses can use Gift Aid too—simply reducing the taxable profits by the amount of the donation.
